  • Timothy J. Plaisier

    Timothy J. Plaisier, Funeral Director / Owner

    Tim was raised in Spring Lake, Michigan and graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School. He attended Ferris State University, graduating with an Associate's degree in architecture and a Bachelor's degree in facilities management. After working in the truss design and engineered lumber industry for sixteen years, he felt called to take a new career path in funeral service. Tim worked for Sytsema Funeral Homes in Muskegon, Michigan. During this time he attended Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, Illinois and in August of 2013, purchased Pederson Funeral Home. He has been married to his wonderful wife Tonya for over twenty-five years, and with her, they are raising their three boys, William, Andrew and Daniel.

  • David L. Germain

    David L. Germain, Funeral Director

    David grew up in Port Huron, Michigan. He attended Xavier University and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. David is also a veteran of service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He formerly owned the Germain Funeral Home in Howard City, Michigan, where he currently resides. David has been a licensed funeral director for more than fifty years and has been with Pederson Funeral Home for over fifteen years. David has two grown children, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren of whom he is immensely proud. Also, two adopted cats Liam and Lancelot who happen to be brothers.

  • Brandon M. Poortenga

    Brandon M. Poortenga, Funeral Director

    Brandon was born and raised in Southwest Michigan. He has earned degrees from both Ferris State University and Worsham College of Mortuary Science. While attending Worsham College, Brandon worked as a student associate for Cumberland Chapels in Norridge, Illinois. Brandon started his apprenticeship at Pederson Funeral Home in April of 2016 and became a licensed funeral director in the spring of 2017. Outside of work, Brandon enjoys spending time outdoors with his fiance and their adopted greyhound.

    Tim is a graduate of Calvin College and also earned a Mortuary Science Degree from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Decatur, Georgia. He has been a licensed funeral director in West Michigan since 1994 and has been serving families here at Pederson Funeral Home since 2014. He and his wife Amy have been married for 27 years and have two sons and a daughter.

    Vicki Winske, Office Manager

    Hi I am the Office Manager for Pederson Funeral Home. I have worked for Tim Plaisier for 4 years. Before Pederson Funeral Home I worked 29 years for Fifth Third Bank FKA Old Kent Bank in various positions. I have been married for almost 31 years to the love of my life, Karl. And, we live in Sparta, MI. We have one grown son, who is married to a lovely ginger girl. We are also adoptive parents to a furry guy we call Pete Pete.

    Lorrie was raised in Grand Rapids where she graduated from Northview High School. She earned her Associates Degree in American Sign Language from Lansing Community College in 2007. She currently works full time for Kent Intermediate Schools District as an Audiology Technician. She has 2 grown children, Marissa and Justin, who are the light of her life. Lorrie has worked for Pederson Funeral Home for the past 4 years in the office, working visitations and funeral services. When not working, Lorrie enjoys spending time in Baldwin and doing outdoor activities with her boyfriend Brad.

  • Jan Perry

    Jan Perry, Funeral and Administrative Staff

    Jan was raised in New Braunfels, Texas. She moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated from East Kentwood High School. She currently works as a Day Care Provider in Sheridan, Michigan. She is married to her high school sweetheart, and has two grown children and three grandchildren. Jan has worked for Pederson Funeral Home for the past four years in the office, working visitations, and funeral services. When not working, Jan enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and camping.

  • Dan Pountney

    Dan Pountney, Funeral Staff

    Dan was born in London, England and grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He spent several years at Michigan Tech University in the Upper Peninsula and then 28 years working for Steelcase. Dan loves spending time on the green and in the off-season, traveling to warmer climates with his wife Teresa. Dan has two step-children, Stephanie and Todd, and three grandchildren, Alyssa, Haley, and Taylor. He is also a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Sparta.
